Tis the season for pumpkin spice everything so I thought I'd make a PSL spin on one of my favourite anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, cold and flu busting, brain boosting and super tasty elixir: Golden Milk. Golden milk is a warm drink made with turmeric. The active ingredient in turmeric is curcumin and that's where all the magic happens. Cucurmin is a powerful anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant. It has also been used to treat Alzheimer's, Depression, Arthritis, digestive disorders, and even cancer. Basically it's a powerhouse of goodness and it's delicious to boot! This recipe is perfect for a fall day or as part of your evening wind-down routine. Personally I enjoy mine with a side of puppy snuggles. ![]() Ingredients 1 cup non-dairy milk of choice (my favourite is cashew milk) 1 tbsp of raw, unpasteurized honey 1/4 cup pumpkin puree 1/2 tsp turmeric (more if you like a stronger taste) 1 tsp cinnamon 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice Pinch of black pepper (assists with the absorption of cucurmin) In a small saucepan, combine all ingredients and stir until fully combined. Heat on medium low until it just starts to boil. The next step is optional (but recommended for a frothier consistency - more latte like if you will). Pour the mixture into a blender and blend on high for 10 - 15 second. Pour into a mug, sprinkle a little extra cinnamon on top because why not! Sip, slurp, gulp and enjoy!
