"Warren Buffett says the best investment you can make is in yourself and Sarah is the best conduit I have found to do so."
Below is the full testimonial from a client of mine that has lost 75 lbs since working with me and recently run their fasting 5km run of all time. Upon reading this email I was moved to tears. I'm so incredibly proud of the improvements and strides towards better health. I'm amazed and humbled that I get to be a part of transformations like these. I'm beyond grateful that this is my job and I'm so blessed to be able to affect change in others. To say that I love my job in a massive understatement!
"When I first saw Sarah, I was under the care of a number of doctors and specialists but continued to feel worse. There was no longer any hope of a cure and medical retirement/disability before the age of 40 appeared highly likely. The only relief I got from the pain I was experiencing was through eating and sleeping, but with sleeping I had to wake up. Nutrition was a last resort as it was the last thing I was willing to change.
Sarah has incredible knowledge but it is her positive energy that is most infectious. The first session or two are rather overwhelming, as her recommendations are generally not the foods I loved. I never thought I would eat sauerkraut or a sardine, but I wanted to feel better and have transformed from a carb-heavy, picky eater to the healthiest eater I know (Sarah excluded). Last week I bought cod liver oil as a better source of vitamin D and gulp it down without hesitation. But a number of foods she recommends do end up being real treats – such as coffee, cashews, bacon & eggs, kombucha (it sounded scary to me but is actually really good), 100% chocolate, or chorizo sausages from local butchers, and foods that I used to have no use for (ahem, vegetables) have suddenly become enjoyable. I haven’t even gotten to all the recipes she lists on her website, which I intend to soon.
Changing your diet is incredibly hard, especially when you use food as a mechanism to cope with illness or difficult circumstances. I remind myself that if it was easy, we’d all be doing it and I think back on my life before Sarah, which was far from easy.
I’m still muddling along, to some extent. But the good days are starting to outnumber the bad, I’m finding joy in things including from time to time in my work, I’m getting compliments on how I look daily, I’ve lost 75 lbs, and I just ran my fastest 5 k of all time. Many of my more secondary health concerns are disappearing, as a healthy diet tends to have “side benefits” rather than side effects. I am proud of myself as I recognize the accomplishment in being healthy, especially considering where I was. I have no reason to doubt the gains won’t continue as once you start seeing progress learning about and improving your health becomes enjoyable.
Sarah clearly practices what she recommends as she has a glow and energy unlike any other adult I know. She understands the emotional grip food has on people and shares the struggles she continues to experience from time to time. She’s not a perfect eating robot and doesn’t expect that from me. She is my biggest cheerleader.
My background is in finance and I regularly follow investments and the markets, always on the hunt for the most undervalued stock but the most undervalued purchase I’ve made is an hour with Sarah. I hear people say all the time “why would you hire a nutritionist when information is available for free on the web” and I recall thinking that way. I also had some ideas about calorie counting that I know benefited fast food and soft drink companies more than I. I don’t see value in the information they are circulating, but I agree that it is free. Warren Buffett says the best investment you can make is in yourself and Sarah is the best conduit I have found to do so."
